Transferring blog name to a wordpress account I already own

  Hi

  I had a blog designed for me. When it came to giving me access, I was advised to open up an account with WordPress so the blog site can be transferred over to me.

  The site has now been transferred, but the wordpress dashboard address has remained the same as the company that designed it for me. I want to change this to unipodadvice.wordpress.com (the name of the account I opened)

  When I go to transfer blog – a large red box appears – saying that I won’t have access to the site etc.
  I only started using WordPress 2 weeks a go so am very much a novice therefore the large red box scares me as I might lose everything!

  What I would like to know:
  Can I transfer a blog between my accounts? I.e.to a wordpress domain name that I already own (thereby deleting the other site that is in its place)?
  Will I lose access like the big red box says?

  Any advice would be great

  My main blog (ie the one that was designed for me) is http://www.unipodadvice.com (aka http://www.bigstickphotography.wordpress.com) NOT the link from my avatar to http://www.unipodadvice.wordpress.com

  I would like http://www.unipodadvice.wordpress.com to be the dashboard address and represent the main site content for http://www.unipodadvice.com and the content that is currently there to go.

  What you need to do is get domain mapping from http://www.unipodadvice.com to http://www.unipodadvice.wordpress.com. If you own the domain then you should be able to set it up from the dashboard of http://www.unipodadvice.wordpress.com

  Thanks! But there is content already on http://www.unipodadvice.wordpress.com so will your suggestion just redirect the domain name http://www.unipodadvice.com to the content on http://www.unipodadvice.wordpress.com?

  What I want to do is remove the content on http://www.unipodadvice.wordpress.com and transfer the blog http://www.bigstickphotography.wordpress.com to the http://www.unipodadvice.wordpress.com address, but if I delete the blog http://www.unipodadvice.wordpress.com now will I lose access to that wordpress domain name?

  Can I not just transfer between my blog accounts?

  I’m really confused!

  If you want, I can completely empty all of the content from http://unipodadvice.wordpress.com/

  That should allow you to transfer the content of http://bigstickphotography.wordpress.com/ to it on a clean slate.
