Transferring Blog Posts and Creating a CMS Portal
-
My website is http://www.cpollardlaw.com. I was on WordPress.com, but purchased a new theme and transferred to HostGator (in the past day). For the most part, my site’s pages tranferred completely. My blog posts, however, did not. Is there a way, or a service, that WordPress provides that will allow me to (1) transfer my blog posts to the HostGator site and (2) provide a CMS system as simple as the one on WordPress to add posts, etc. Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey Corey!
Let me address each of your questions individually (albeit in reverse order).
provide a CMS system as simple as the one on WordPress to add posts, etc.
Are you referring to WordPress.org software, which is our self-hosted CMS? It’s very similar to WordPress.com. You can read more about it here:
Here’s a document on how to install it at HostGator:
http://support.hostgator.com/articles/specialized-help/technical/wordpress/how-to-install-wordpress
After you’ve installed WordPress.org software, you can export and import your content as described here:

Would that work for what you’re looking for?
