Transferring Blog to Blog
-
Hi, I own GuTTWrenchPowerBlog.com and I would like to own sportsentertainment.com which is available. I recently renewed my subscription but wanted to know if it was possible to transfer my money to sports entertainment.com or if I have to make an additional purchase? Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, domains are only refundable for 48 hours after their initial purchase, so you’ll need to register the new domain separately. Thanks!

Is there any way to get the contact information of the person who owns sportsentertainment.wordpress.com?
-
Hi Seth, we don’t give out users’ contact information for privacy reasons. Is there anything I might be able to help you with?
-
Well, it seems as though someone created this blog in 2005 or 2006 and never used it. There are no posts and it looks just like it would if you created and blog and then did nothing. I am very interested in the sports entertainment name for my blog so I wanted to see if I could ask the owner about getting control of the site. Because they have sportsentertainment.wordpress.com I can’t get that or sportsentertainment.com

The only way to reach that user would be to try leaving a comment on their site, since we don’t recycle blog addresses.
Something to keep in mind is that WordPress.com subdomains (like sportsentertainment.wordpress.com) and custom domains (like sportsentertainment.com) are completely separate entities. Having one doesn’t automatically entitle you to the other – it’s a first-come, first-served process on both sides. The domain sportsentertainment.com has been registered since 2001, as you can see in the whois domain database results:
Name CLOUD GROUP LIMITED Expires On June 01, 2014 Registered On June 01, 2001 Updated On June 01, 2013It is currently owned by someone in Korea.
Just let me know if you need further help.

Ok. Thank you so much for your help. When I try going to sportsentertainment.com it never works. I get a server not found message. I will comment on that blog and again thanks for your help!

No problem! Lots of domains are in fact registered, but may not have a live site connected to them. Searching for the domain in a domain database such as the one under Store > Domains will reveal whether the domain is registered or not. If it is, you’ll see a warning like this:
