Transferring BLOG to hostgator WITH subscribers

    Hi there,
    I’m in the process of moving my blog. I downloaded wordpress to my cpanel on my hostgator account. I downloaded the XML file but the import process is a bit confusing for me. I’m not very good with these things and I don’t want to import my blog without my subscribers. I would appreciate if someone could help me out.

    Hi there,

    I’m afraid that I can’t really import your site for you on to Hostgator (though we do offer a Guided Transfer product which will move everything for you for a fee: http://en.support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/), but these two help articles should help you.

    I know you said you already got your XML file, just in case you need it here’s one on how to export from WordPress.com: http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/

    Then once you have that XML file, importing to your WordPress.org site can be done using this help file: http://codex.wordpress.org/Importing_Content#WordPress

    As for transferring your subscribers, can I verify that your two sites are fridaynightstyle.wordpress.com (old) and fridaynightstyle.com (new)?
