Transferring both website and wordpress blog from Adobe site
-
I want to import my Adobe website (which has my word press blog on it) to WordPress. I would like one website with my current WP blog, and my portfolio hosted.
I’m not sure what to do first and would still like to use one account and the domain name I purchased from Go Daddy if possible.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
First you should export your content from your Adobe site.
If your adobe site has a WordPress blog on it then you can use the export functionality to export the content from that blog and import it to your WordPress.com site. Once the importing is done and you have added your portfolio to your blog, then do a domain mapping of your purchased domain(from godaddy) to your wordpress.com blog. -
Wow @simpysaru. Very helpful of you. I already have a WordPress blog that is currently hosted on my website: terrissecreative.com. So I guess I would use my existing WordPress blog and create my new website out of that?

hi christine,
I checked your site terrissecreative.com, unfortunately it is not a WordPress site. Hence the exporting will not work, but the good news is you don’t have many pages and there isn’t a lot of content on that site to move. So I guess a couple of hours will be enough to manually (copy & paste) move them to your WordPress blog therebeldesk.wordpress.com.There are a couple of ways I can think of moving your content from elsewhere to WordPress.com.
1) Move everything to your blog therebeldesk.wordpress.com manually and then map the domain terrissecreative.com to it. This way you can manage everything portfolio and the blog at therebeldesk.wordpress.com.
2) Keep the blog therebeldesk.wordpress.com undisturbed, and create another site Eg:- christineportfolio.wordpress.com and move every thing to it and link your blog the way it currently is on terrissecreative.com. Then you can map the domain to christineportfolio.wordpress.com so that it reads terrissecreative.com and not christineportfolio.wordpress.com.
This way you can manage your blog at therebeldesk.wordpress.com and your portfolio at christineportfolio.wordpress.com. Everything still will be at WordPress.com, but managing a blog and your portfolio can be a bit easy, given they have their own urls.3) This is a minor alteration to the second one, wherein you do everything as option 2 and also give the blog therebeldesk.wordpress.com a sub domain (eg:-blog.terrissecreative.com or rebeldesk.terrisscreative.com ). This way your site will be at terrissecreative.com and blog can be found at blog.terrissecreative.com. This is a bit expensive since two domain mappings are involved.
All these might sound daunting, but it actually is not if you approach it one step at a time. Let me know which of these options you would prefer to do and based on that will help you with further instructions on how to go about actually.
