Transferring .ca domain to another wordpress.com user

I have purchased a .ca domain on WordPress.com for a friend before they had a WordPress.com account (we are both canadians). Now that they have an account, I would like to transfer the domain to them, but I do not have the option to do so, as I would for a .com domain. Do I not have any way to transfer it over? What happens if I stop paying for the domain?

Stopping payment means you’re giving up that domain. It doesn’t sound like that is what you want to do.
Looking at our Site Profiler, it doesn’t look like your above domain was registered through WordPress.com (I could be wrong).
