Transferring .com to .org
-
Hello,
I just had a 2-hour chat with a rep at Bluehost after I paid money to set this all up (just to add a theme I wanted) and it still isn’t connecting According to Bluehost, they were able to use my login credentials and see the themes I purchased and added to my file manager through them. However, each time I try to log in, it redirects me to the wordpress.com dashboard with my blogs. WHY is this happening? I cleared my cache, history, cookies, everything. Tried on several devices. I’m hoping you may have a solution since Bluehost didn’t. Thanks!

What is the exact URL starting with http:// of the Bluehost hosted site that you refer to?
-
runnorthmn.com is the URL. It’s all set up and working fine, except through my trials of trying to setup web hosting with blue host and my domain through godaddy, there are a lot of duplicate pages on my site now and I can’t get into the wordpress.org dashboard to manage my site hosted through bluehost.
-
-
Yeah, I get there and I login and it redirects me to my original wordpress.com dashboard with a few of my other blogs that aren’t hosted on bluehost/godaddy.
-
Did you log out https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and clear your browser cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies before trying to log-in on the other account?
-
It’s as if my old id is connected to my new site. It’s bizarre because the bluehost representative was able to use my login credentials and login to the site above and get there, but I wasn’t. I cleared my browsing history, cache, cookies and passwords. Everything.
I still can’t get in. I just want to know if this is a WP problem or a Bluehost problem.

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you are referring to a wordpress.ORG software install on paid hosting and you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

Hi there,
When I click your URL I do see your self-hosted site, so I can’t think why the admin link would redirect here. Your domain it not registered with us, and the name servers are not pointing to us, but I see there is still a mapping upgrade on your account. I’m wondering if the mapping record is not stuck somewhere.
I can cancel your mapping upgrade and see if that makes a difference, but I’ll just need you to confirm that first. Thanks.
-
I was able to access it from my office computer, and I haven’t had a chance to try it again at home. If the mapping upgrade would make a difference (or I don’t need it anymore since I’m hosting with Bluehost now), I would be fine with canceling the mapping upgrade.
Thanks!

When you get home, please try clearing your browser cache again, and also check if you have the same problem if you use another browser. The fact that you can access it from a different computer points to it being a browser issue.
It could also be that the name server changes hadn’t finished updating when you tried accessing the site – those changes can take up to 72 hours, and you might have been accessing a DNS server that hadn’t updated yet the last time.
I’ve also removed the mapping upgrade as you won’t be needing it if you’re hosted at Bluehost, in case that makes a difference.
