Transferring content from Blogger
-
My blog is currently hosted by blogger.com but I want to use WP moving forward..
Is there any way I can import the content from Blogger into wordpress for my new blog? Or do I need to copy and paste and repost everything?
If that is the case – can things be backdated (ex. posts from 2 years ago so they don’t display a recent date)
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. You can very easily import all your content from Blogger via an XML export file. You’ll have to consult Blogger support pages on how to generate the export file that side, and instructions for importing it to WordPress.com can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/
Imported posts should still display the post time and date on which they were originally published on Blogger. And in any case, you can edit the posting date and time of any published post at any time.
Note that media files don’t always transfer correctly, so don’t delete your media files from Blogger until you’re sure they’ve been added to your WordPress.com media library.

See the Coming From Blogger? support page, and the Import support page.
At Tools > Import, you are offered the oportunity to import “posts, comments, and users” from Blogger. The “Coming From Blogger?” support page says:The import transfers your posts and comments — including text, photos, videos, and other embedded files — but not your theme, custom domain, or personal settings. You’ll set those up on WordPress.com yourself (we’ll help).
If that is the case – can things be backdated (ex. posts from 2 years ago so they don’t display a recent date)
The dates of imported posts and comments will be retained.
