Transferring crywild.com

  We attempted to transfer crywild.com away from squarespace to wordpress so when you request crywild.com you get what is currently at crywild.wordpress.com. The domain has not transferred. Squarespace say that the domain is no longer with them, even though the nameservers on whois suggest it is.
  If I attempt to transfer it, I get ‘crywild.com is already connected to a WordPress.com site.’ If you request the domain you get ‘DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN’

  Hi there,

  crywild.com has been transferred to us, but that transfer was done by a different WordPress.com account than the unclezen account you’re using to post here, and the domain is attached to a site in that account, not the http://crywild.wordpress.com site in your account.

  To manage that domain, you must be logged in as the WordPress.com username account you used to transfer that domain to us. If you don’t remember the login details for the correct account, please follow our account recovery process at https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/ so we can help you regain access.

  OK, we have got a bit further by referring to this article:
  https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/
  And we are getting this message:

  This domain is being forwarded to crywild.wordpress.com
  Upgrade to a paid plan to make crywild.com the primary address that your visitors see when they visit your site.

  Which is correct because when I type crywild.com I get forwarded to the WP site.

  Just a few weeks ago. We paid $18 to transfer the domain. (I thought a domain transfer would be free?)
  So we bought the $4/m plan. But the domain is still being forwarded to the WP domain.

  Any help would be welcome – thanks

  Ok, you’re all set now!

  Since paid plans include a free domain registration, and you purchased the domain before the paid plan, I went ahead and refunded the $18 you paid for the domain, and I also made sure it was set as primary: https://crywild.com/
