Transferring custom WordPress.com domain when moving to .org

  Hi,

  I’m looking to transfer my .com blog to a self-hosted .org site. When having a look through the step-by-step migration process, I’m tripping up on the domain section as my domain is custom and was bought from WordPress.com. When I decide to make the move and sign up with BlueHost (for example), I’ll want to keep this domain name.

  So, in which order do I do this. Do I have to sign up with BlueHost with my http://www.therosequartz.com domain and then transfer my domain to my new host?
