Transferring domain

  If I want to transfer my domain from GoDaddy (paid and registered for 2 years) to wordpress, will I lose my 2 year registration? And do I have to pay £16 at wordpress to transfer, or each year even though I’ve just paid for my domain from GoDaddy for 2 years?

  Nope, the two years will stay and another year would be added upon transfer.

  For the first year, you would need to pay just the plan fee:
  https://wordpress.com/pricing

  After that, we would charge domain renewal fees as well.

  It can just be nicer to have the domain and hosting paid for in the same place. If you keep them separate, just be sure you’ve got proper login info for each service.
