transferring domain

  I used Word Press in a prior job, and would like to continue using it at my new job. I would like to transfer the domain. I am not sure what this may do to the existing website or e-mails using the domain?? Is there a way to transfer content from one site to the word press platform by chance?

  Hi there!

  Transferring the domain will not move your content, what it will do is to move all your visitors to your new WordPress.com site. You can work on your site using the free WordPress.com subdomain and only move your custom domain once your site is ready.

  We do not provide email hosting so you will probably want to keep that with your current provider. You would need to add some custom DNS records here, after you move your domain:

  https://wordpress.com/support/add-email/

  You can also import your content from the old site. If it’s a WordPress one, you can follow these steps:

  https://wordpress.com/support/coming-from-self-hosted/
