transferring domain

  is it a normal thing to transfer my go-daddy domain that i’m already paying for to create a word press address? I’m confused on how to navigate this.

  Hi there – It’s not a requirement to transfer your domain in order to use it for a site you build here at WordPress.com.

  Are you are going through the site setup process and seeing the option to transfer a domain you already own? You can skip that step and continue with a free site URL for now. You can always connect the domain you own later.
