Transferring Domain

    My friends bought a domain without telling me and are adamant we use it because they paid for it already and want to have ownership, however they don’t seem to have the transferring option. I’m wondering if it’s because they mapped their domain, used .com or because it’s not their original blog etc. because I used the same exact name except with .net and I was able to find the option of transferring. They really want to claim ownership of the domain and I am fine with that, however I don’t want to rebuild everything we already did on our past blog.
