transferring domain

My blog was originally set up via wordpress. I recently started blogging again and had set up my domaine with squarespace. I’d like to transfer the domaine back to wordpress and continue on with my old blog. How do I go about doing this? Please help

Hi there,
I see you added a domain mapping upgrade yesterday for the domain, thelovelaceclub.com. If that’s the domain you want to use, the mapping upgrade is the way to do it. It’s not possible to completely transfer the domain to us from your current registrar.

My domain express with Squarespace on Feb 4th. Is it possible to transfer over entirely at that point? I don’t want to have to keep toggling back and forth between the two

At this time there is no way to transfer that domain to us completely. I would also recommend against letting it expire, as Squarespace won’t release it immediately and you’ll run the risk of losing it.
You’ll either need to keep the domain at Squarespace, or transfer it to a different registrar if you don’t want to stay with them, but it’s not possible to transfer it to us, as much as we’d like to help you with this :)

okay. so I got that part. next question – Does that mean I can start posting again through my old blog and I don’t have to post through squarespace anymore? or how do I get my last three years of content (that live on wordpress) back to thelovelaceclub? and how do I transfer the handful of posts I’ve done on squarespace over to wordpress. ugh I never should have left.

Is that content perhaps on the second site? If so, I can either move your domain mapping to the other site, or you can export the posts from the one and import it to the other.

Yes. Click on My Site ->Switch Site and select the site you want to use, and click Posts ->Add to start creating a new post.
and how do I transfer the handful of posts I’ve done on squarespace over to wordpress.
You’ll need to get an XML export file of your content from Squarespace, and then you can import it here following these instructions.

Kokkieh you’re awesome! I’ve got my feeds connected all seems to be working properly at this point. Just one last question, at least for now ;), my bloglovin connection does not work anymore and keeps linking to the squarespace account even though that’s no longer active. When I keep trying to connect it gives me an error message that wordpress is not supported. Can you help with this?

I think you might need to contact Bloglovin for help with that. It sounds like they’ll need to remove your Squarespace site from their index on their end, and then you should be able to pull in your WordPress.com site’s feed in its place.
They’ll also be able to give you the correct instructions how to verify your site here with them.
