Transferring domain

  I currently own my a domain and do my hosting through GoDaddy, however I was wondering if it’s possible to go back to the free hosting WordPress offers, where my website will just be websitename.wordpress.com. HELP.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  Yes, it is possible. If your site hosted at GoDaddy is a WordPress site, you can migrate your site over to WordPress.com.

  You can follow the steps over here:

  Is there anything I should check before migrating? Will it look the same or is it going to mess with the theme?

  I have an near opposite question. If I purchased WP Premium with the intent to host in WP and then decide to host on GoDaddy, does the Premium plan pass on to the GoDaddy managed WP account?

  Or, do I need to request a refund and start over?

  Regarding the theme, are you using WordPress on the site you want to migrate? If so, what theme are you using there? If you want to share a link to the site you want to move, we can take a look.

  Checking the site you gave and your question about the theme, I see your site is using the ‘Optimizer’ theme.

  That theme is made for WordPress.ORG sites primarily, but these forms and the site you provided to us is WordPress.COM. We have more information on those differences here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  Especially if wanting to use the free account, your current theme would not work or be able to brought here to your WordPress.com account.

  Thanks for sharing the URL! @chernabogalpha is right about your site using the Optimizer theme. WordPress.com doesn’t have this theme, so your site won’t look exactly the same when you import the content from your previous site, but you can browse available themes to find something similar or experiment with something new in the Theme Showcase: https://wordpress.com/themes
