Transferring Domain

  Hello
  I just purchased my domain from go daddy but it’s telling me I can’t use it for WordPress until April. I currently have a domain I can use… once the one I want is free in April can I just switch it?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there, my current site is in Weebly and I am keen to move across to a WordPress business plan. Question… can I create temporay site in WordPress whilst I am working on the design and content, and still keep my old site live until I am ready to go live on the WordPress site? If not, can I create a holding page on the front end of my WordPress site whilst we’re working on the back end? We’re keen to get started as soon as we know how we do this.

  Yes, if you purchase the Business plan you can register a temporary domain and use an under construction plugin to hide your site while you work on it.

  I updated the DNS to reflect what is needed for wordpress but it is not allowing me to do anything until april.

  To be able to point your domain to your WordPress.com site you don’t have to only change its name servers. You’ll also need to map it here.

  Domain mapping is an upgrade included in all of our paid plans and in order to use it, you must first upgrade to a plan.

  Would I just buy a temporary domain to complete the purchase? I tried to purchase the plan but when it tells me to enter my domain it wont let me move on to the next step to purchase…

  Hi there,

  Yes, you can register a temporary domain and when you’re ready you can contact us so that we remove that domain and map your own (for free).
