Transferring domain back to WordPress
-
I bought my domain (metaphysicalrevolution.com) on WordPress.com, but decided to change to Wix.com where I transferred the domain.
I’ve decided this was a bad idea and now want to transfer it back again. The domain says it is pointing to WordPress on my account, but Wix have given me Transfer code and are still pointing my domain to Wix.
??
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Once a domain is transferred to another domain registrar, it isn’t possible to completely transfer the domain back to WordPress.com. That’s because WordPress.com isn’t able to accept incoming domain transfers.
However, you can still point the domain back to WordPress.com by mapping it to the WordPress.com name servers:
- NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
We have a guide for that here: Map an Existing Domain
Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

I can’t point it to WordPress though as it is already pointing to Wix, until, I assume, I enter the transfer code which they have provided me?

Hi there,
It isn’t possible to transfer a domain back to WordPress.com, so you’ll only need that transfer code if you want to transfer the domain from Wix to a different (third party) domain registrar. (WordPress.com can’t accept incoming domain transfers, so there isn’t a use for that transfer code here.) If you want to transfer the domain to another domain registrar, we have a list of popular registrars here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/#how-to-change-your-name-servers
To point your domain to WordPress.com, you’ll need to change your domain’s name servers. That’s different from transferring your domain. Your domain registrar can help you change those name servers if you aren’t sure how.
