transferring domain from namecheap

  I just paid for a year of my domain at namecheap, now when I transfer it to wordpress it wants me to pay $96. I was told that I would not be billed for the transfer as I have already paid one years worth for the domain.

  Hi prinvestmentsllc,

  While your domain registrar may not charge to transfer a domain away from there, a paid plan is required to transfer an existing domain to WordPress.com:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/
