Transferring domain from Squarespace to WordPress

  I have a live site with Squarespace using my 1 domain. I want to create a WordPress site and transfer the domain once I’m done. How do I create a WordPress site without affecting my Squarespace site (I still need clients to be able to access my site while I’m creating the new one).

  You can use free domain provided by WordPress.com
  Which has a prefix .WordPress.com

  Once you design the whole website.you then move the domain to WordPress.com
