Transferring domain mapping
-
Hello, I paid for domain mapping of jenthomas.co.uk on my jenthomaswrites.com wordpress blog back in September. I now want to map this address to a new wordpress blog, jenthomasjourno.wordpress.com, but I’m receiving an error of “The domain name you entered is already mapped to a WordPress.com blog”. Can this be transferred or cancelled so I can move it to the new site please? I want one as a blog and one as a portfolio.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’ve made that switch for you. Take a look and let me know if everything appears to be correct.

Thank you. How do I find the A reference/address to update the settings with godaddy so the domain points to the wordpress site? When I go to the DNS settings it just mentions ns1.wordpress.com and ns2.wordpress.com but no A reference.

Changing your nameservers is the way to point your domain to WordPress.com.
These two support documents (one that is from us and another from godaddy) may be useful:
https://support.godaddy.com/help/article/664/setting-nameservers-for-your-domain-names
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
Take a look through those pages and let me know if you have any further questions. I’ll be happy to help.

I updated the nameservers this morning but it’s still pointing to godaddy, and on my godaddy DNS pages in the A reference it has a godaddy ip address. Surely while this is there it will always point to their holding page?

I just visited jenthomas.co.uk and was directed to your WordPress.com website.
Domain changes usually take several hours to fully take effect (and theoretically can take up to 72 hours). I’d recommend checking back in a few more hours. You can also try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies. Instructions can be found here:
Let me know if I can help with anything else!
