Transferring domain names to wordpress.

Hello, I am currently trying to get a custom URL to map to my wordpress blog. The WordPress blog being: theelad.wordpress.com
The name I am trying to change it to is theelad.com, I own theelad.com and the original site in which it was mapped to has been shut down.
But when I go to enter theelad,com, the wordpress blog does not come up. It instead says the webpage cannot be found despite registering theelad.com through wordpress.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi theelad, I’m not quite sure which steps you have taken. Have you followed these instructions? Map an Existing Domain
And if so, how long ago did you complete it? It sometimes takes up to 72 hours for domain changes to propagate, so you might need to give it a little more time if it’s still fresh.

I believe it was around a week ago.
And the DNS is where I am having trouble. This is the first time I’ve done something like this so I’m unsure as to what I am doing wrong.

Okay, great. We can probably rule out propagation delay.
Which of the steps in these instructions have you followed? We can be more useful at helping if you’re super specific. :)
Map an Existing Domain -
I bought the upgrade so I could use the custom URL for my wordpress blog, I can select it as a domain but it’s not recognising it because I don’t have the DNS set-up, I assume.
And I am unsure about setting it up, even with the instructions.

I will be contacting my original website provider to see if the matter can be sorted on their end.
