Transferring domain over to WordPress.com

  Hello,

  We are in the process of making the final decision to migrate our website to the business plan of wordpress.com however we have 2 quick questions.

  1) It asks us to register a domain during the signup process. Since we already have one, I suppose we just use a random one for now?

  2) Our website ends in .global, will it be possible to point our WordPress.com host to our .global domain? Also as a subdomain for example wp.xyz.global?

  To clarify, we’d be mapping our domain, not transferring.

  Hi there,

  Mapping a domain you already own to a WordPress.com site does need a paid plan. See the link provided earlier:
  Mapping existing domain

  Transferring means that your domain’s registration is moved over to WordPress.com and we then become your registrar, so all future renewals of your domain and plan for your WordPress.com site are managed and paid on your WordPress.com account.Domain Transfer
