Transferring Domain Registration Problems and Confusion

  I am unable to unlock my domain. I registered the name THROUGH wordpress and according to whois – the site is registered with “Wild West Domains”. So I contacted them directly and they said this is something I have to do through you – wordpress – since you set the domain information. I paid for Domain Mapping and Domain Registration. I uploaded the site to Bluehost (per your recommendation) and I love the functionality – however, now I’m discovering a ring-around-the-rosie with no clear direction or information on my sites domain name that I’m supposed to be able to own(?). When I contacted Bluehost they forwarded the following information which confirmed the WhoIs information
  Transfer childcaretaxspecialists.com – Enter EPP Authorization Code – Step 1 of 4
  Domain: childcaretaxspecialists.com
  Created: January 4th, 2013
  Expiration: January 4th, 2014 (274 days)
  Current Registrar: Wild West Domains, Inc.
  Transfer Lock: The domain childcaretaxspecialists.com is currently locked from transfer (Status clientTransferProhibited).
  When you lookup the EPP Authorization code, you may also want to unlock the domain as well. This is not required at this stage of the transfer, but will be required before a transfer can take place.
  I need to unlock the domain and get the EPP Authorization code

  I need help – I need to transfer this over to Bluehost where the site presently is. What has to be done. I’ve got copies of all the information on the site … I just need to understand why I can’t access it or transfer or get any of the features your instructions say will take place.

  I’m sorry for the confusion about unlocking your domain. You can actually do that here at WordPress.com rather than going directly to Wild West Domains (our domain registrar partner). The guide below explains how to transfer your domain name to another registrar, including how to access the authorization (EPP) code:

  To get started, you will need to log in to your domain manager in the Domain Administration section under Store > Domains on your dashboard.

  The guide I linked to above has detailed instructions for each step of this process, but please let me know if you would like more help with it and I will gladly provide more assistance.
