Transferring domain to Bluehost
-
How do I unlock my domain so I can “Initiate Transfer Now!” on bluehost. Currently it says “locked” in red. It’s not about to expire so I don’t know why it’s locked.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi ajneal13,
This is what I found in the official support documentation:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/transfer-domain-registration/You can manage your domain from My Domains, by clicking the Edit button next to it and then Transfer Domain. If you have more than one site, select the site with the domain you wish to transfer using the drop-down menu.
You will need to disable the Domain Lock and Private Registration to prepare your domain for transfer, and then click Request Transfer Code.
Hope that helped!

You can’t transfer a domain within 60 days of it being created or certain changes being made to the registration – internet ICAAN anti fraud rules – so you will need to wait until February
but since you have changed the name servers your BlueHost site will work just fine

I guess I don’t understand what I do while I wait the 60 days. One of the major reasons I wanted to switch over to self hosting was so I could better customize the theme of my website. I’ve switched over the name savers. Now what?
Sorry I just feel like I signed up for Bluehost and I can’t do anything with it? Am I missing something?

You don’t need to transfer your domain to Bluehost now (you can do that once the domain is unlocked). Since you have pointed your nameservers to them, you can just install WordPress on your Bluehost server and be good to go.
