Transferring domain / WordPress site unavailable (that is hosted by GoDaddy)

    Hello,

I’m fairly certain this is either a very simple problem or has already been addressed but I can’t seem to find a solution on the forums. Apologies for my ignorance.

    I currently have a site hosted by GoDaddy.com;
however, the website is published on WordPress.

I am transferring the site to webflow at the moment. The problem is that after updating the DNS records the WordPress site has become unavailable. At the same time, the webflow site is not what is published either. The page simply breaks due to being redirected too many times.

Is it that the transfer is automatic with the update of DNS records (on GoDaddy) to the webflow and that I simply need to wait 24 hours till the transfer is complete?

If so, how can I still access the wordpress site (as there are still meta information that I need to carry over)

*Note: the wordpress site is unavailable as well as the dashboard and any links pertaining to the site even on the “backend” of the wordpress site.

  • I don’t see any WordPress.com sites or domains under your account here.

What is the URL of the site with the problem?

    This is my GoDaddy.com DNS.

  • Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with GoDaddy.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

https://wordpress.org/support/ is a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

Your hosting provider’s support team may also be able to assist.

Ah, I see. Please allow me one more question.

I’m not able to even view the login screen for http://www.purejamaica.net so, I’m not able to get support for it. I don’t see a separate/independent login for WordPress.org.

Do you know of a way that I could reach out to their support?

  • WordPress.org itself is entirely separate from both WordPress.com and how you log into your self-hosted WordPress site.

If you’ve never posted anything on WordPress.org itself before, you’ll need to register for an account there first.

Actually, I will figure it out. Thank you for the link! :)
