Transferring domains

Hi, I’m not very proficient with this kind of thing so please excuse my ignorance. The business I work for already has a website with go daddy, we built it on their site builder. For a few reasons we now want to make a new website with wordpress and we want to use our godaddy domain. How would I go about doing that?
