Transferring email forwarding from current provider
-
Hi
I’d like to transfer my email forwarding service to WordPress from my current provider who are quite frankly a pain in the bum! Unfortunately I have signed up with the forwarding service until 2016. Presuming I can cancel that service with them, is there a way I can relatively seamlessly cancel their service and transfer to you?
With thanks,

Hi Rachael,
With your custom domain linked to WordPress.com, you can set up email forwarding on our end with this guide: Email Forwarding
If you have any questions about how that works, please let me know!

Thank you. It looks like the forwarding would happen instantaneously – could I just check that’s the case?
If not I’ll make sure I do it on a weekend so I don’t miss emails from clients.
Thanks heaps,

Hi Rachael,
Any time you make domain-related changes it can take a little time for everything to take effect. (There’s no way to guarantee the change will be instantaneous.) Usually, changes to your email setup will start working within a few hours.
With that in mind, I’d say your idea to make the change on a weekend is a good plan. :)
