Transferring Existing Domain

  I would like to transfer our church domain away from WIX but not until after I have built the WP site. I cannot use the Import/Export feature as the site is unpublished so I have to copy/paste everything. Can I do this first before I transfer the domain? I don’t want to close out WIX until I have everything I need here in WP.

  Yes, you can build the site here and then add the domain when you’re done, either via a transfer https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/ or leaving it where it’s registered and just mapping it: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
