Transferring existing domain to wordpress
-
I already own a domain name and want to use that for a site i created on wordpress and i am paying for that domain name as well. If i transfer the domain name to wordpress, would i still need to continue paying the old registrar for the domain name or is it included in the price of the plan in wordpress?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there,
If you have just recently purchased the domain, you’re not able to transfer it within 60 days. It’ll be great if you could share us the domain name for our checking as well.

So if your domain is less than 60 days old, you could map the domain to the site on WordPress.com with an upgraded plan.

And if you still wish to transfer your domain to WordPress.com, you may do so after your domain reaches 60 days old. Transferring domain and domain mapping will require an upgraded plan. All paid plans include a free credit that allows you to register a new domain, transfer the domain or map the domain to WordPress.com site.
Note: Do not cancel your domain before the transfer, it’ll make the transfer process becomes complicated and will cause unwanted delays in the transfer process.
Do let us know if you have more questions, we’ll be glad to help.
