Transferring followers and stats
-
Hi, I have transferred my site to Bluehost and have Jetpack up and running. Name Servers now point to my self-hosted site. Could someone please assist with moving my followers and stats across. Thank you for your assistance! Kim

As your have installed and activated the JetPack plugin http://jetpack.me on your WordPress.org install, and you posted the relevant URL(s) into a forum thread, Staff will do the transfer of both subscribers and stats for you. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/#wordpress-com-to-self-hosted-site I have tagged this thread for their attention.

Thank you for your speedy response and for tagging my thread for attention! Should I consider the Site Redirect as well? Really appreciate any guidance you can provide in making my transition go smoothly when it comes to followers and stats.

It looks like you might have installed Jetpack before your name servers were properly pointed, so I’m getting an error connecting. Could you disconnect and then reconnect your Jetpack account, and let me know? Once that’s done, I can finish the transfer for you.

Thanks for your reply. Is it cool for me to do that if I have already exported and imported my site plus modified some CSS?

Hi there – Yes, it’s fine to reconnect.
Please follow these steps:
1. Go to the Jetpack page in your site’s dashboard
2. Click the “Connected to WordPress.com” button in order to disconnect
3. Make sure that the domain name buddhachicandbuttercream.com is displayed in your browser address bar and in the Site URL field under General -> Settings
4. Go back to the Jetpack page in your dashboard and click “Connect to WordPress.com”Please let me know when you’ve updated your Site URL and reconnected Jetpack, and I can transfer your subscribers for you.

You are the best, thank you! Just two other quick questions… Is it necessary for me to purchase the Site Redirect or am I good as I did not change my site name? Secondly, what happens to my “likes” I activated Likes on Jetpack but they were not there, so I deactivated it. Should they transfer as well?
Thanks again!

You shouldn’t need a site redirect if you’re using the same domain, but if you want your old permalinks to redirect, you’ll need to select the same permalink structure on your new site (day and name).
Likes don’t transfer, unfortunately. :)
