Transferring Followers from WordPress.com site to WordPress.org site.

  How do I transfer followers to my wordpress.org website? I apologize if this has been addressed in other posts. I read in multiple replies that wordpress.com needs to be contacted in order for this to happen. Thank you for the help.

  Provided you have installed and activated the JetPack plugin http://jetpack.me on your WordPress.org install, and you post the relevant URL(s) into a forum thread, Staff will do the transfer of both subscribers and stats for you. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/#wordpress-com-to-self-hosted-site Do that now please as I have tagged this thread for their attention.

  I apologize, I am afraid that I am not an expert in this area. I installed and activated jetpack. My current wordpress.org site only has an IP address for a url. I need to switch over my wordpress.com domain to my new wordpress.org site. I’m still figuring out how to do that. It is currently http://www.liberatedtraveler.com. Should I switch the domain first and then worry about the followers and stats, or should I take care of the followers and stats first? Thank you so much for your help.

  Is your jetpack connected to 192.185.4.53/~mreece85/? That looks like a temporary domain. If you have it connected to http://liberatedtraveler.com/ could you disconnect and reconnect jetpack please?

  I tried to connect and reconnect, but now I get this error message: Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host.
