Hi,
Can you give us a bit more information about what happens when you try? Are you getting an error message?

Hi
Sorry about delay in replying.
Here is what I get when I click on a page in WordPress.com version of a page I import from self hosted site on wordpress.org: https://brianharring.wordpress.com/2020/01/19/day-56-chobe-to-elephant-sands-botswana/
Here’s the original page from wordpress.org site: http://bharr.com/day-56-chobe-to-elephant-sands-botswana/
The problem is all the text where a gallery should be. I use the free version of Covernews theme on wp.org site but this doesn’t seem to import galleries.
I use SimpLy Gallery Block & Lightbox to make gallery
Any advice on a direct import from wp.org to wp.com site? I’m happy to pay for this.
My reason for wanting to do this is to allow me to aake blogs while wildcamping in places where there is no WiFi or mobile phone signal.
Many thanks

Hello there,
Many thanks for that additional information.
If the photos were uploaded via a plugin, there’s a chance it wouldn’t have been imported across as they would reside via that plugin.
It’s not possible to run plugins on a free WordPress site, and you would need a business plan in order to keep everything as is.
It’s possible to import a site as per these instructions here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-an-entire-wordpress-site/
I hope this helps.

Thanks
So, my only option to import a wp.org site, with themes and plugins, is to buy a business package at €300pa?
Way to expensive for a small personal blog
-
Yes, that is correct.
It’s possible of course to run a personal blog on even our free plan.
We have many built-in features that mimic popular plugins and hundreds of free themes, but if you want an exact copy of your site as-is, and your site is using plugins, that would require at least a Business plan.
