Transferring from WP to bluehost
-
Dear WP, I’ve been running the blog http://www.flickandflyjournal.com for a few years and have decided to transfer to BlueHost. I’ve setup the account and managed to transfer the DNS over. However, when importing my xmls of my ‘old’ site they are not appearing on my new wordpress.org platform. I’m at a loss and don’t know what to do. I’m worried that I might have lost everything!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
First, to put your mind at ease, all of your material is still at http://flickandflyjournaldotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin, so it’s not lost!
Are there any errors that are returned when importing the exported file? Depending on the size of the file, you may need to re-export it, breaking it into chunks (exporting only pages, then only posts in a certain timerange, etc) if Bluehost couldn’t handle the sizes of the files used.
It may also help to contact BlueHost’s support or ask on WordPress.org’s support forum at http://wordpress.org/support/
Since we’re support for WordPress.com, there’s only so much we can do, so I’ll do what I can, but a bit of forewarning :-)
Thanks!
