transferring hosting

  How can i transfer my wordpress blog to another host? The export and import feature does not work because my site is way too big (wordpress limits export/import file size to 2MB). Also, doing an export/import loses all your formatting and other customizations to the theme. If i try to just ftp everything over it gets broken because of the database. Can someone walk me through the steps to ftp everything over and get it working again (fixing the database etc). Thanks!
