Transferring hosting.

  My site is hosted by wordpress, but I want to migrate it to Go-daddy hosting but it won’t allow me due to limitations with wordpress hosting. Is there a way I can do this?

  Hi there,

  While the link above will explain what you need to do, I just want to clarify that you cannot move an entire WordPress.com site to another host. This is because we use a modified version of the WordPress software here, that doesn’t work exactly like the open source version of WordPress you’ll be using somewhere else.

  So it is only possible to move the content of your site, i.e. posts, pages, and comments, to another host. You’ll first need to install the WordPress software at your new host to create a completely new site on that end. Then you can export your content from your WordPress.com site, and import it to the new site using the importer tool that’s built into WordPress itself.
