transferring images from wordpress.org to .com
-
Hello, I just transferred my site from a self hosted site back to wordpress.com. none of the images in my posts work anymore. I see that they are all pointed to the old media file …/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/…
how do I get all of those images to resolve?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
If your self-hosted site is still publicly available, our import tool will grab those images and import them into your WordPress.com site. However, if the self-hosted site isn’t available, our importer can’t get the images in order to import them here. In that case, you’ll need to upload the images manually and re-insert them in your imported posts.
Please let me know if you have any questions about that!

The self-hosted site can be available if I change the DNS settings back to point to that host. Will that work?

Yes, that should work! :) Once you switch the DNS back to that host, reply here to let me know. I’ll have our team fix up the images for you.

Hi there,
I requested that our team fix the images for you, and now that the weekend is over it shouldn’t be too long. I’ll let you know as soon as it’s done! :)

Hi there,
You should be all set! You can point the DNS for your domain back to WordPress.com, and please let me know if you have any questions. :)
