Transferring my current website to a Basic Free account (if possible)
-
Hello! My current website (www.captivatingbysarahwest.com) is a WordPress site but is currently being hosted by Bluehost including the domain name. I have folded my business and so no longer need the site to be under a paid domain name or readily accessible to the public – though I wouldn’t mind still having access to it myself, specifically the blog posts. Can you help me with this? Thanks! Sarah

Hello there Sarah,
If all you want is the blogposts, you can do a content import (pages, posts, comments, categories, tags, and media content.). This ensures that any incompatible features (like plugins and themes) which aren’t supported by the free plan won’t cause an issue during the import and you don’t need to have a paid plan.
You can learn how to do this here:

That does help! Though – is there a way to simply have the entire website as-is accessible under a new (Basic/Free) domain name?

Sorry, or is this this the only option to preserve some of the site – exporting from my current dashboard, signing up for a new site and then importing that saved data?

You’ll have to reach out to Bluehost about that since this is where your site is hosted.
