Transferring my domain

  • Unknown's avatar

I currently have a website on the Kajabi platform with a domain that I own. I purchased my domain (www.robmatasich.com) from GoDaddy.

Right now I am transferring some of my website data and information over to my wordpress site because I want to cancel my Subscription with the Kajabi platform, simply because of cost.

So I’m not really sure what I am doing… Do I transfer the domain to WordPress from GoDaddy if I want to use my domain (www.robmatasich.com) for my wordpress site?

Once I cancel my Kajabi Subscription does that allow me to use robmatasich.com?

How does this process work? I can read the FAQ’s, but not sure where to start.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi –

    Thanks for getting in touch.

There’s 2 options for bringing your domain over to WordPress.com.

    1. Map it to us. That’d leave it registered with GoDaddy but it would point to us, and your WordPress.com site would load rather than the old platform.
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

    2. Transfer the domain to us. This option is nice because you’ll have your site and domain all in one place. https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/prepare-domain-for-transfer/

Before you can set the domain up on the account you’ll need to figure out which plan is going to work best for your site. Those are at https://wordpress.com/pricing/
