Transferring my existing blog to WordPress

  How can I transfer my blog to WordPress? Is it something I can do myself? Do you offer assistance or do I need to hire someone to do it?

  WordPress.com offers dedicated tools for importing blogs from other services. Please refer to this manual: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/

  I’ve heard that it’s difficult to transfer pictures. Is that true? I would be transferring from Typepad.

  Typepad has their own guide for transferring to WordPress:
  https://help.typepad.com/typepad_to_wordpress.html

  Quote from this page:

  Images and uploaded files hosted on your Typepad blog will not be imported. Most sidebar modules, ad modules and scripts are not supported by WordPress.com.

  With a paid plan, you can request an export of all uploaded images and files by opening a help ticket.

  So you need to transfer your pictures manually if you’re not on a paid plan with them.
