Transferring my followers from WordPress.com to WordPress.org

Hi there, I recently migrated my blog Spreegoogs.com from WordPress.com to WordPress.org. I’ve read that if you have the Jetpack plugin installed on the new WordPress.org blog that WordPress support can transfer your followers from WordPress.com over – can someone please assist me with this?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    You’re welcome.

  • Your subscribers and followers have been transferred as requested. Just a heads-up that any WordPress.com followers who opted to receive email updates will need to re-subscribe again on your new site through the Jetpack signup box, otherwise they’ll only see new posts in their Reader. Non-WordPress.com email subscribers will continue to get email updates.

Best of luck with your self-hosted site!

Thank you! One more question – on our post this morning, when the email went out followers it said “WordPress.com” as the sender. Any way we can change that to SpreeGoogs like before?

  • Would you mind checking your new self-hosted site under Settings > General? It looks like your Site Title is blank.

Once you update that, you’ll need to disconnect and reconnect Jetpack from your WordPress.com account. Don’t uninstall it, just click disconnect and then reconnect. That should solve the issue but let me know if it doesn’t. :-)
