Transferring my followers from wordpress.com to wordpress.org
-
HI Josh,
I have just done a check on the ‘old’ blog – at wordpress.com and there are 25 new subscribers since you have helped me shift the ‘older’ ones to my new blog at wordpress.org.Can I ask
– why the subscribers would appear on the ‘old’ site stats and not the new one?
– are they getting new posts’ notifications via email? I don’t think so but as long as they get it in reader, that is ok with me.
– how come when they subscribe, it goes to the old wordpress com site and not on wordpress org site?this is puzzling to me. No wonder I don’t see increase in the subscribers but my friends told me they have clicked on follow… and then I have to ask for your help to transfer the subscribers every few weeks.. this is troublesome for you.
is there a plug in that I have to install for this?
my blog is baconandjackrussells.com. I can see that the graph on the site stats has stopped since the day I changed to wordpress.org but the followers bit is still ‘active’…
isn’t there a way that when they click on follow, my new site stats reflect that?
Lastly can you help me transfer the new subscribers over to my wordpress org site?
thank you so much for help.

That happens from time to time. It is easy enough to fix, I will just transfer the subscribers over again.

“Leftover” subscribers transferred to your new site.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

hi josh, thank you for your time.
since last week there has been 9 more new subscribers to my old baconandjackrussells.com hosted at wordpress.com site. Why is this happening? Will they still get to see the posts that i have, on their reader? Or it doesnt show? if they can still get it on the reader, then i might not need to let them know to use their email to subscribe to my new site.
i hate to trouble you everytime to transfer the subscribers over to my new site again… is there a solution to this?
Or is this a common issue for people who changed from wordpress com to org? that the wordpress com subscribers can still click on follow and i have to go back to check in?
can you help me transfer the 9 new subscribers over ?
my site is baconandjackrussells.com. Thank you so much.
Thank you, let me know

Once you have moved to a self-hosted site, your posts from .com will still appear int he WordPress reader. So if you have a particularly popular post that keeps being found by people searching for a topic or tag, you may see new followers.
Now, I have to admit that your situation is a bit more excessive than normal. I’ll look into it and see if I can figure out where they are coming from. But the easiest solution may just be for you to let me know every once in a while if you get more than a few of them.
