transferring my sites from Bluest back to WordPress

    Hi there
    I have a photography website with Photoshelter although the domain is hosted by Bluest called https://www.revelinnature.com
    Can I transfer it back to WordPress without the process affecting the site. Unsure if it is as simple as a straightforward transfer.

    If you want to migrate an exact copy of those sites (including all plugins and themes) that is possible by adding our migration plugin to your site: https://wordpress.com/support/import-using-move-to-wordpress-com/

    It is not possible to add plugins on our free sites (an upgrade is required to host your site on our managed servers, where it is possible to upload plugins/themes) so you will be prompted to upgrade to our Business Plan when you use the plugin to migrate.

    Thank you for the information. I’m unsure whether it answers the whole question as the site is on Photoshelter, not Bluehost. the domain is registered via Bluehost. Maybe it’s complicated? Thank you. Cathi

    Hi there!

    Thanks for that clarification – I’m not too familiar with Photoshelter as a host, but in either case, the process should be similar.

    If you’re only looking to migrate your domain to us, you should be able to follow the steps right here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/incoming-domain-transfer/ – and this should work for a domain coming in from Bluehost.

    For content migration, my best suggestion would be to reach out to Photoshelter support if you can – I’m not sure what platform they use for their site building, but they’d be better able to advised on transferring your content over to us.
