Transferring my url and emails from my old website

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, my old website is this one – http://www.halewithbadshotlea.org.uk/

I would like to transport all the traffic to my new one: http://badshotleaandhale.wordpress.com/

And I would still like to be able to receive the emails that come to (email visible only to moderators and staff)

How do I go about this?

    Thank-you

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To map a domain you already own to your WordPress.com blog, you will need to purchase the Domain Mapping upgrade. You can find this upgrade by going to Store -> Domains on your blog’s dashboard and follow the steps there.

Please find additional instructions for mapping your domain here:

    Domain Mapping

Once you purchased the upgrade you can reply to me so I can set the correct e-mail MX record on your domain.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Thank-you so much.

Ok done that – con you correct the e-mail MX record for me now please?

    Done :)

You can now change the NS (name server) records on your domain and point it to WordPress.com:

Please go to your domain registrar’s site and log into the control panel. You will need to update the name servers as below:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

Let me know if you have any questions!

    Thank-you very much.

    The current providers say:

We will need the IPS TAG of your new provider to change the domain to so that you have control of this. Once you have this please let us have it and we can adjust the domain.

Also, I have managed to get the website into a “Redirect Loop”.

IPS tags are only if you transfer a domain from one registrar to another.

We don’t accept incoming domain transfers, therefore we don’t be your new domain provider/registrar but just your host. The domain mapping upgrade you’ve got with us allows you to keep your domain registered at Fasthosts but point it to your WordPress.com.

The “pointing to WordPress.com” part needs to be done by changing the Name Server records on your domain. This can be done by your from your registrars control panel, or you can ask your registrar to do this for you.
