Transferring or mapping my domain
-
I really need some help. My domain (go daddy I think) is already being pointed to where my website is now through YOLA. I want to get away from Yola and use WordPress, but I have no idea what I’m doing. Is there anyone who can help me on this? Can anyone create me a simple but nice website? I have one that works now but I really want to get away from yola. Help please. my current site is pawsitivepractice.com

Hi lisamatthews6166,
I want to get away from Yola and use WordPress, but I have no idea what I’m doing.
Don’t worry, we’ll try and help get you on the right track. There are two types of WordPress:
- WordPress.com: where the site is created and hosted here on WordPress.com.
- WordPress.org: where WordPress.org software is installed on a third party host like GoDaddy.
There is more information about the differences between the two here:
If you would prefer not to be responsible for updates and security, WordPress.com would be the better option as we take care of that for you.
It would be possible to map or transfer your existing domain to WordPress.com. Custom domains are a feature of paid plans (Personal, Premium and Business) and each one includes a domain credit which would cover the cost of mapping or transfer.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
