Transferring ownership

  I need to speak with someone about transferring ownership of a blog to another user within our organization. The original user passed away in December 2011.

  Do you have access to the mrc[…] (at) gmail.com email address that this blog was registered under, or that account’s API key?

  Unfortunately no, we never came accross login information for his gmail account. We could provide obituary information. We believe the paid account was purchased using University funds, and the whois info for the domain has his University address and phone number.

  Other faculty in his area would like to perhaps carry on the blog, but the main reason we are interested in obtaining a login is because a site that was being linked to (in the photos section) must have had the domain expire, and it is now pointing to a Chinese porn site. Honestly, just editing out that link for us would be a good start, but I think long term we would still like to transfer the site to other staff.

  Do you have access to the transaction ID from the receipt?

  OK I spoke with the financial office and got the ID from a previous transaction, it was: [removed] for meatisneat.wordpress.com. Is that the information you are looking for? This was definitely paid for with University funds.

  This is the correct transaction ID for a purchase under the craines username.

  Which username would you like the blog and domains transferred to?

  Ok, I spoke with the person who wishes to take over the site, and I had him create an account. The username is: edmills54.
