transferring pages and stuff from one site to another

I want to transfer all of the content of my wordpress.com website thenewroalddahl.com to thecrazymadwriter.wordpress.com I have exported the xml file it to my computer and then imported it to the new website but nothing happens after I have uploaded it, and nothing is there. I am at a total loss as to why this is so.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No, I made thenewroalddahl.com private, and because it is expiring in four months time, I think it is best to leave it as it is. I have no long term interest now in thenewroalddahl.com or thenewroalddahl.wordpress.com

I just took a look at thenewroalddahl.wordpress.com and found that it was already set to private.
Please note that thenewroalddahl.com is a domain, not a site. Think of domains as like a mailing address for your site, but not the actual content itself. You can actually point your domain to any site you want. But now thenewroalddahl.com is pointing to your WordPress.com site: thenewroalddahl.wordpress.com which is set to private meaning that if users go to thenewroalddahl.com, it will be private.
