transferring registration to wordpress

  I was told that I could transfer my registrar to WordPress from Dotster. I have let it expire as I was told at that point I should be able to do the transfer. Is this correct?

  That is incorrect; WordPress.com cannot accept incoming domain transfer. I would highly recommend renewing the registration at Dotster so you do not lose your domain. Then, you can follow the instructions here to map it to WordPress.com:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  Can you try that?
