transferring SEO / meta-content from an existing site to wordpress site
-
RE above: I have rebuilt an existing site (-for my local parish council) as a wordpress.com site, and am looking to go live and transfer across their existing domain.
However, the existing site has some very usable meta-content which ensures that they appear top of a Google search for, say, ‘Baschurch parish council’.
I have read the SEO page from the Support site, and can see that it might take a while for the new site to become searchable. But can I transfer any existing meta-data that would allow their very good search results to continue ? Or can I add meta-data to the new wordpress site ? My concern is that the site won’t be updated too often and therefore might struggle to be consistently found.
