Transferring site

  If I built a personal site (the 2.99/mo) can you add multiple site/page administrators? I’d also like to know how how easy or difficult it may be to transfer billing and/or administration of site to someone else.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  You can add multiple users even on a free site. I’d advise against adding multiple admins, as any admin has the power to add or remove other admins, and to completely delete the site. But you don’t need an upgrade to add more than one contributor, admin or otherwise.

  We distinguish between subscriptions and sites. If you create a site, you are its owner. But a subscription, like the Personal Plan or a domain, is owned by whichever admin on the site bought it. So you can have the site belonging to one person, and the upgrade belonging to another. (This is a situation best to be avoided, as we often get cases where the person who bought an upgrade for a site left for some reason, leaving the other users on the site unable to manage it. The best way to avoid it is to be the only admin on the site, so only you can purchase upgrades. )

  Should you wish to transfer an upgrade to another user you need to contact us, either here in the forums or via email/live chat, and we can transfer it for you. Then the new user becomes the owner of the upgrade, but not of the site.

  Or you can transfer ownership a site to someone else, which will also transfer all upgrades in your account to them and remove you as a user from the site. This you can do without staff intervention.

  This is a fantastic answer. Thanks so much for your help!

  I have a couple other questions posted (one of which is presently preventing me from creating the site all together) if you happen to know answers to any of those. Not sure if there’s an easy way to find them or not. Hoping to get started on the site on Friday – or maybe even sooner!
